BIOGRAPHY

Thomas Evans is an American journalist. He is a senior international producer for CNN and has reported on the Libyan Civil War, the revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia, the Bahrain Uprising, Iraq War, the War in Afghanistan, Hurricane Katrina, the Israel Hezbollah conflict and 9/11 attacks. He often produces for CNNs Anderson Cooper, Michael Ware and Nic Robertson, but has also been partnered with Ivan Watson, Ben Wedeman, Nick Paton Walsh and Christian Amanpour on occasion.Tommy has received a number of awards for his work at CNN, including three Emmy awards, two Edward R. Murrow awards, three Peabody awards, and a Prix Bayeux. He was also instrumental in winning CNN International’s two Royal Television Society awards for News Channel of the Year in 2012 and 2013, and CNN International’s Royal Television Society award for Best Breaking News Coverage for its coverage of the Paris attacks.In April 2012 Tommy was appointed CNN Internationals Senior Director of Coverage for EMEA (Europe, Africa, and the Middle East). In September 2014, Tommy was appointed Vice President and London Bureau Chief, overseeing all newsgathering for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.Tommy is also a still photographer, his images from the revolutions in Tunisa and Egypt, the Civil War in Libya, the War in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and most notably from Abbottabad covering the death of Osama bin Laden, have often appeared on CNN.com, and have also appeared in the LA Times and the Chicago Tribune.Thomas Evans is a 1999 graduate of the University of Rochester, receiving a BA in Political Science as well as BA in Studio Arts. In 2000 he earned a Masters in International Politics from SOAS.
