Varalaxmi Sarathkumar fondly known as Varu made her debut as a lead actor in the film Podaa Podi (2012). Her role as an antagonist in the Tamil movie, Sarkar earned her a lot of appreciation. Her maiden award was the Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress for Podaa Podi which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Varalaxmis career so far are Podaa Podi(2012), Maanikya (2014), Tharai Thappattai (2016), Masterpiece (2017), Vikram Vedha (2017), Sandakozhi 2 (2018), Sarkar(2018), and Maari 2 (2018) to name a few. Varalaxmi daughter of actor Sarathkumar and Chaya was born on 5 March 1985 in Bangalore. She pursued her bachelors degree in Microbiology from Hindustan Arts and Science college and went on to pursue her Master in Business Management from the University of Edinburgh. In 2014, she was honored by the Government of India with the Padma Shri. She developed her acting skills at Anupam Kher’s Acting School in Mumbai.
