Vinod Khanna made his debut as an actor in the film Man Ka Meet (1969). It was in 1971 he gained world-wide recognition as an actor with the film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. There was no turning back after that and Khanna was considered as a very bankable star. He has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to his credit. His maiden award was the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Haath Ki Safai which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Khannas career so far are Kuchhe Dhaage (1973), Gaddaar (1973), Inkaar (1977), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Parvarish (1977), Khoon Pasina (1977), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), The Burning Train (1980), Qurbani (1980), Kudrat (1981), Rajput (1982), Dayavan (1988), Chandni (1989), Jurm (1990), and Imtihaan (1994) to name a few.
Khanna, son of Kamla and Krishanchand Khanna was born on 6 October 1946, in Peshawar, British India. He attended St. Marys School, Bombay, Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, and Barnes School in Deolali, near Nashik. In 2018, he was honored with Indias highest award in cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the Government of India at the 65th National Film Awards.
