Caryn Elaine Johnson professionally known as Whoopi Goldberg made her debut as an actor in the film Citizen: Im Not Losing My Mind, Im Giving It Away (1982). It was in 1985 she gained recognition as an actor with the film The Color Purple which gave her stardom. There was no turning back after that and Goldberg at present is considered a very bankable star. She has had a good career studded with a lot of awards to her credit. Her maiden award was the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Drama Film for The Color Purple which has since been followed by many more. The iconic films in Julie Andrewss career so far are The Color Purple (1985), Fatal Beauty (1987), Ghost (1990), Sister Act (1992), The Magical World of Chuck Jones (1992), Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993), The Little Rascals (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), In the Gloaming (1997), Alice in Wonderland (1998), Girl, Interrupted (1999), If I Had Known I Was a Genius (2007), The Little Engine That Could (2011), 9/11 (2017), and Nobodys Fool (2018) to name a few. Caryn Elaine Johnson, daughter of Robert James Johnson Jr. and Emma Johnson was born on November 13, 1955, in Manhattan. She attended Tisch School Of The Arts and Washington Irving High School.
