A Boy and His Dog is a 1975 English-language Comedy Drama film directed by L. Q. Jones and produced by Alvy Moore under the banner of LQ/Jaf Productions. A post-apocalyptic tale based on a novella by Harlan Ellison. A boy communicates telepathically with his dog as they scavenge for food and sex, and they stumble into an underground society where the old society is preserved. The daughter of one of the leaders of the community seduces and lures him below, where the citizens have become unable to reproduce because of being underground so long. They use him for impregnation purposes, and then plan to be rid of him. Written by Ed Sutton. A boy and his dog stars Don Johnson, Susanne Benton, Alvy Moore, Jason Robards, Tim Mcintire, Helene Winston and Tiger. The screenplay is written by L. Q. Jones which is inspired from A Boy and His Dog by Harlan Ellison. The music was composed by Tim Mcintire along with Jaime Mendoza-nava. Cinematography was done by John Arthur Morrill and editing by Scott Conrad. The movie has a running time of 93 minutes. It was released on 14th November 1975. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by LQ/Jaf Productions.
