A True Mob Story is a 1998 Cantonese-language Action Crime motion picture written and directed by Wong Jing and produced by Wong Jing under the banner of China Star Entertainment in collaboration with Win's Entertainment and BoB and Partners. A low level gangster in Hong Kong gains new respect after saving a boss's life in a gang fight. Despite his wife's death in this attack, he appears to be moving up in the Triad family until he discovers the other bosses are not looking out for him when he is double crossed and the gangster he previously hospitalized in the gang fight comes back for revenge. Written by RandyO. A true mob story features Andy Lau in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Gigi Leung, Alex Fong, Suki Kwan, Mark Cheng, Joe Tak-chung Ma and Sam Lee. The music was composed by Peter Kam along with A & D Ltd and C.a.m. Cinematography was done by Cheng Siu-Keung and editing by Marco Mak. The movie has a running time of 112 minutes. The film made a box office gross of $16 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by China Star Entertainment.
