Aandavan Kattalai is a 1964 Tamil-language movie directed by K. Shankar and produced by P. S. Veerappa under the banner of P. S. V. Pictures. Prof. Krishnan (Sivaji Ganesan) is a role model; honest and austere, he is a staunch follower of Swami Vivekananda. His principle in life is 'Duty First'. He swears by his profession that shall serve his students to the best of his abilities and, to that end, will live as a bachelor. There is a feeling of admiration and great respect for him among his students. But love strikes his heart in the form of a student Radha (Devika). Even though he tries to resist her, he succumbs to her beauty and love. Prof. Krisnan's orderly life is in shambles. Aandavan kattalai features Sivaji Ganesan, A. V. M. Rajan, Pushpalatha, P. S. Veerappa, S. A. Ashokan, K. Balaji and P.s. Veerappa. The screenplay is written by Javar Seetharaman. The music was composed by Viswanathan Ramamoorthy. Cinematography was done by Thambu and editing by K. Narayanan. The movie has a running time of 157 minutes. It was released on 31st December 1963.
