Aligarh is a 2016 Hindi-language Biography Drama movie written by Apurva Asrani and Ishani Banerjee. The movie is directed by Hansal Mehta and produced by Hansal Mehta, Sandeep Singh, Sunil Lulla, Shailesh R Singh and Sandip Ssingh under the banner of Eros Entertainment in collaboration with Karma Pictures. A true story of Dr. Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras, who was suspended from his job because of his sexual orientation. Aligarh features Manoj Bajpayee in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, Ashish Vidyarthi, Sukhesh Arora, Balaji Gauri, Sumit Gulati and Dilnaz Irani. The screenplay is written by Apurva Asrani. The music was composed by Karan Kulkarni. Cinematography was done by Satya Rai Nagpaul and editing by Apurva Asrani.
