Amar Prem is a 2016 Bengali-language Adventure Romance motion picture directed by Haranath Chakraborty and Shakti Samanta and produced by Shakti Samanta under the banner of Shakti Films. The movie is about a school boy, who is ill-treated by his step mother, and becomes friends with a courtesan neighbour. Amar prem stars Sharmila Tagore, Rajesh Khanna, Saurav Chakrabarti, Megha Chowdhury and Gourab Roy Chowdhury. The screenplay is written by Arabinda Mukherjee and Ramesh Pant which is inspired from Hinger Kochuri by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay and Nishi Padma. The music was composed by Dev Sen along with R. D. Burman. Cinematography was done by Aloke Dasgupta and editing by Govind Dalwadi. It was released on 9th December 2016.
