Amma is a 1982 Tamil-language Drama Family film written by Sreekumaran Thampi and directed by Rajasekhar Ramanathan and Sreekumaran Thampi and produced by Sreekumaran Thampi and Bhavani Rajeswari Cambines. under the banner of KPR Entertainments. Amma stars Ratheesh in the lead role along with Jagathy Sreekumar, Zarina Wahab, Prathap K Pothan and Saritha Chandrasekhar in supporting roles. The music was composed by Shankar Ganesh along with Shyam. Editing was done by V. P. Krishnan. It was released on 24th June 1982. Amma was made on a budget of ₹30 lakh and at the box office it grossed only ₹7 lakh. Prathap Pothan proposes to Saritha and she accepts. Prathap Pothan's brother Dilip loves Saritha's sister Arundathi but she is not interested. Later whether Dilip attempts to molest Arundathi she kills him. Saritha saves her sister by committing that she did the murder. What happens from there is the rest of the movie.
