Anand is a 1986 Kannada-language Action Drama movie directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and produced by Parvathamma Rajkumar under the banner of Dakshayini Combines. Kiran and Aishwarya are collegemates who are always at loggerheads with each other. In a twist of fate, they fall in love when they unknowingly start writing letters to each other under pen names. Anand stars Shivrajkumar in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Sudha Rani, Rajesh, Jayanthi, Shivarajkumar, Sudharani and Balaraj. The music was composed by Shankar Ganesh along with Sankar-ganesh. Cinematography was done by B. C. Gowrishankar and editing by P. Bhaktavatsalam. The movie has a running time of 144 minutes. It was released on 19th June 1986.
