Ardh Satya is a 1983 Hindi-language Crime Drama movie written by Vijay Tendulkar and Vasant Dev. The movie is directed by Govind Nihalani and produced by Manmohan Shetty and Pradeep Uppoor. After having watched his cop father abuse his mother and compel him to become a Sub-Inspector with Maharashtra Police, Anant Velankar, who had wanted to complete his MBA, re-locates to live in Bombay. Ardh satya stars Om Puri in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Smita Patil, Amrish Puri, Shafi Inamdar, Naseeruddin Shah, Sadashiv Amrapurkar and Achyut Potdar. The screenplay is written by Vijay Tendulkar which is inspired from Short story Surya by S. D. Panvalkar. The music was composed by Ajit Verman. Cinematography was done by Govind Nihalani and editing by Renu Saluja. The motion picture has a running time of 130 minutes. It was released on 18th November 1983.
