Azhar is a 2016 Hindi-language Biography Drama film written by Rajat Arora, Aditi Mediratta and Rajat Aroraa. The movie is directed by Anthony D'souza and Tony D'souza and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Sony Pictures Networks under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures in collaboration with Sony Pictures Networks and Indiana Films Limited. Biographical sports drama based on the life of former Indian international cricketer, Mohammad Azharuddin. Azhar features Emraan Hashmi, Lara Dutta, Nargis Fakhri, Prachi Desai, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Gautam Gulati and Saud Mansuri. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner Amal Mallik along with Kalyanji Veerji Shah, Pritam Chakraborty, Amaal Mallik, Dj Chetas and Sandeep Shirodkar. Cinematography was done by Rakesh Singh and editing by Dev Jadhav and Vipul Chouhan. The film has a running time of 130 minutes. It was released on 13th May 2016. Azhar was made on a budget of ₹40 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹30 crore. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Panorama Studios.
