Basanti is a 2014 Bengali-language Drama Action movie written by Chaitanya Dantuluri and directed by Chaitanya Dantuluri and Rhitobrata Bhattacharya and produced by Chaitanya Dantuluri. A group of students are taken as hostages in their own 'Basanti College' by a gang of terrorists. Basanti features Alisha Baig in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Tanikella Bharani, Randhir Gatla, Raja Goutham, Sayaji Shinde, Dayanand Reddy and Sanjeev Sharma. It was released on 28th February 2014. Basanti was made on a budget of ₹50 lakh and at the box office it grossed only ₹48 lakh.
