Begum Jaan is a 2017 Hindi-language Action Drama motion picture written by Niranjan Iyengar, Srijit Mukherji, Monisha R Baldawa and Kausar Munir. The movie is directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Mukesh Bhatt, Vishesh Bhatt, Mahindra Soni and Srikanto Mohta under the banner of Vishesh Films in collaboration with Shree Venkatesh Films, Play Entertainments and Khurana Productions. The story of eleven prostitutes who refuse to part ways with their brothel and each other during the partition between India and Pakistan. Begum jaan features Vidya Balan, Ila Arun, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajit Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Vivek Mushran and Ridheema Tiwari. The screenplay is written by Srijit Mukherji and Kausar Munir which is inspired from Rajkahini. The music was composed by National Award winner Anu Malik along with Indraadip Dasgupta.
