Bindhaast is a 1999 Marathi-language Adventure Mystery movie written by Ajit Dalavi and Prashant Dalavi. The movie is directed by Chandrakant Kulkarni and produced by Matchindra Chate. Mayuri (Mayu) and Vijayanti (Vajiu) are two best friends in college they have a rivalry with Sheela another female in college,Manasi Patwardhan aunt of Mayu heads the Patwardhan group of industries and gets annoyed with her when she s her in company of Vajiu as she wants Mayu to head the Patwardhan group of industries after her college but thinks its impossible being with Vaiju as he is a mischievous girl,Manasi once asks Mayu about her marriage plans and she says she is having a boyfriend whose name is Mahesh Mukadam just to get rid of the early marriage but to her shock she gets a letter from a person called Mahesh Mukahadam to meet her in a hotel,Mayu and Vaju reach the hotel but Mahesh doesn't turn up.during their college gathering when everyone is attending the function Mayu and Vaiju plan to meet Mahesh in their hostel and in a panic situation a bullet gets fired and they notice Mahesh's body outside their room they both pull the body towards the stage top and return to the function in between the function Mahesh's body slides down and falls on the stage.ACP Nisha Welankar who investigates the case finds Mayu and Vaiju guilty and arrests them but they manage escape from the police station and learn that their rival Sheela is also missing from the hostel since the day of the murder,Mayu and Vaiju now have to prove themselves innocent in front of ACP Nisha Welankar and find who killed Mahesh the guy who never existed in their life and why is Sheela missing.
