Braveheart is a 1995 English-language Biography Drama film written by Randall Wallace and directed by Mel Gibson and produced by Mel Gibson, Alan Ladd Jr. and Bruce Davey under the banner of Icon Productions in collaboration with The Ladd Company. When his secret bride is executed for assaulting an English soldier who tried to rape her, Sir William Wallace begins a revolt against King Edward I of England. Braveheart features Mel Gibson in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Sophie Marceau, Patrick Mcgoohan, Catherine Mccormack, James Robinson, Sean Lawlor and Sandy Nelson. The music was composed by James Horner. Cinematography was done by John Toll and editing by Steven Rosenblum. The motion picture has a running time of 178 minutes. It was released on 24th May 1995.
