Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid is a 1969 English-language Biography Crime film written by William Goldman and directed by George Roy Hill and produced by John Foreman under the banner of Campanile Productions in collaboration with Newman-Foreman Company. Based loosely on fact, the film tells the story of Wild West outlaws Robert LeRoy Parker, known as Butch Cassidy , and his partner Harry Longabaugh, the Sundance Kid , who are on the run from a crack US posse after a string of train robberies. Butch cassidy and the sundance kid features Paul Newman, Robert Redford, Katharine Ross, Strother Martin, Jeff Corey, Henry Jones and José Torvay. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Burt Bacharach. Cinematography was done by Conrad Hall and editing by John C. Howard and Richard C. Meyer. The film has a running time of 110 minutes. It was released on 23rd September 1969 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office.
