Children of Men is a 2006 English-language Drama Sci-Fi motion picture written by Alfonso Cuaron, Timothy J. Sexton, David Arata, Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby and P.d. James. The movie is directed by Alfonso Cuaron and Alfonso Cuar N and produced by Iain Smith, Tony Smith, Marc Abraham, Eric Newman and Hilary Shor. The film is set in 2027, when two decades of human infertility have left society on the brink of collapse. Children of men stars Clive Owen in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Julianne Moore, Michael Caine, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Charlie Hunnam, Juan Gabriel Yacuzzi and Mishal Husain. The screenplay is written by Alfonso Cuar n, Timothy J. Sexton, David Arata, Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby which is inspired from The Children of Men by P. D. James. The music was composed by John Tavener. Cinematography was done by Emmanuel Lubezki and editing by lex Rodr guez and Alfonso Cuar n. The motion picture has a running time of 109 minutes. It was released on 22nd September 2006 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Children of Men was made on a budget of $76 million and at the box office it grossed only $70 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Universal Pictures.
