City of Angels is a 1998 English-language Drama Fantasy film written by Wim Wenders, Peter Handke, Richard Reitinger and Dana Stevens. The movie is directed by Brad Silberling and produced by Charles Roven and Dawn Steel under the banner of Regency Enterprises in collaboration with Atlas Entertainment. Inspired by the modern classic, Wings of Desire, City involves an angel (Cage) who is spotted by a doctor in an operating room. Franz plays Cage's buddy who somehow knows a lot about angels. City of angels stars Nicolas Cage in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Meg Ryan, Dennis Franz, Andre Braugher, Colm Feore, Robin Bartlett and Joanna Merlin.
