City Without Men is a 1943 English-language Crime Drama motion picture written by George Sklar and Donald Davis. The movie is directed by Sidney Salkow and produced by Samuel Bronston and B.p. Schulberg under the banner of B.P. Schulberg Productions. A young woman's husband has been imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. In order to be near him to try to help him get his sentence overturned, she moves into a boardinghouse near the prison whose residents are the wives of inmates. City without men features Linda Darnell in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Edgar Buchanan, Michael Duane, Sara Allgood, Glenda Farrell, Leslie Brooks and Doris Dudley. The screenplay is written by W.L. River. The music was composed by David Raksin. Cinematography was done by Philip Tannura and editing by Al Clark. The motion picture has a running time of 75 minutes. It was released on 14th January 1943. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Columbia Pictures.
