Congo is a 1995 English-language Action Adventure film written by Michael Crichton and John Patrick Shanley. The movie is directed by Frank Marshall and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Sam Mercer under the banner of The Kennedy/Marshall Company. When an expedition to the African Congo ends in disaster, a new team is assembled to find out what went wrong. Congo features Laura Linney in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Dylan Walsh, Ernie Hudson, Grant Heslov, Joe Don Baker, Tim Curry and Lola Noh. The screenplay is written by John Patrick Shanley which is inspired from Congo by Michael Crichton. The music was composed by Jerry Goldsmith.
