Connie and Carla is a 2004 English-language Comedy Crime motion picture written by Nia Vardalos and directed by Michael Lembeck and produced by Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum, Jonathan Glickman and Tom Hanks under the banner of Spyglass Entertainment. A mob mix-up in Chicago sends two chanteuses screaming for L.A., where they score a perfect gig: posing as drag queens on the dinner theater/cabaret circuit. Things get extra-weird when a guy falls for one of the girls. Connie and carla features Nia Vardalos in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Toni Collette, Stephen Spinella, Dash Mihok, David Duchovny, Alec Mapa and Christopher Logan. The music was composed by Randy Edelman. Cinematography was done by Richard Greatrex and editing by David Finfer. The movie has a running time of 98 minutes. It was released on 16th April 2004. Connie and Carla was made on a budget of $27 million and at the box office it grossed only $11 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Universal Studios.
