Dabangg is a 2010 Hindi-language Action Comedy movie written by Abhinav Kashyap, Dilip Shukla and Abhinav Singh Kashyap. The movie is directed by Abhinav Kashyap and Abhinav Singh Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Dhilin Mehta under the banner of Arbaaz Khan Productions in collaboration with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. Dabangg is set in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, and tells the story of a fearless police officer, Chulbul Pandey, and his troubled relationship with his stepfather and half-brother. Dabangg features Salman Khan in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Vinod Khanna, Dimple Kapadia and Om Puri. The music was composed by IIFA Award winner Wajid Ali along with Sajid Wajid, Lalit Pandit and Sandeep Shirodkar. Cinematography was done by Mahesh Limaye and editing by Pranav V. Dhiwar. The film has a running time of 126 minutes. It was released on 10th September 2010. The Film was successful at box office. Dabangg was made on a budget of ₹41 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹141 crore. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision.
