Day of the Dead is a 1985 English-language Horror Thriller motion picture written and directed by George A. Romero and produced by Richard P. Rubinstein under the banner of Dead Films Inc. in collaboration with Laurel Entertainment Inc. and Laurel-Day Inc. Zombies rule the world, except for a small group of scientists and military personnel who reside in an underground bunker in Florida. The scientists are using the undead in gruesome experiments; much to the chagrin of the military. Finally the military finds that their men have been used in the scientists' experiments, and banish the scientists to the caves that house the Living Dead. Unfortunately, the zombies from above ground have made their way into the bunker. Written by Matt Puskas. Day of the dead features Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, Joe Pilato, Richard Liberty, Joseph Pilato, Jarlath Conroy and Roy Wetzel. The music was composed by John Harrison. Cinematography was done by Michael Gornick and editing by Pasquale Buba. The film has a running time of 100 minutes. It was released on 19th July 1985. Day of the Dead was made on a budget of $15 million and at the box office it grossed only $0 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by United Film Distribution Company.
