Dillagi is a 1978 Hindi-language Comedy Romance film written by Basu Chatterjee, Keka Chatterjee and Bimal Kar. The movie is directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by Bikram Singh Dehal, and Kanwar Ajit Singh. It is here that she meets the new Sanskrit Lecturer, Swarnkamal, who instantly falls head-over-heels in love with her, while she openly detests him; his manner of teaching Sanskrit; the teachings of Maha-Kavi Kali-Das; the romance between Lord Shankar and Devi Parvati; and the love poems that are having a detrimental effect on the entire female student body. Dillagi stars Dharmendra in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Hema Malini, Mithu Mukherjee, Deven Verma, Govardhan Asrani, Urmila Bhatt and Kajri. The screenplay is written by Basu Chatterjee, and Keka Chatterjee. The music was composed by Rajesh Roshan along with Yogesh. Cinematography was done by K. K. Mahajan and editing by V. N. Mayekar. It was released on 18th July 1978. Dillagi was made on a budget of ₹14 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹10 crore.
