Dishonored Lady is a 1947 English-language Crime Drama movie directed by Robert Stevenson and produced by Jack Chertok and Hunt Stromberg under the banner of Hunt Stromberg Productions in collaboration with Mars Film Corporation. Madeleine Damien is the fashion editor of a slick Manhattan magazine by day and a lively party girl by night. Unfortunately, the pressures of her job, including kowtowing to a hefty advertiser, and her bad luck with men are driving her to a breakdown. She ks the help of a psychiatrist, and under his orders, quits her job and moves into a smaller flat under a new identity. She becomes interested in painting and a handsome neighbor. He soon finds out about her past when an ex-suitor implicates her in a murder. Written by Daniel Bubbeo. Dishonored lady features Hedy Lamarr in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Dennis O'keefe, John Loder, William Lundigan, Morris Carnovsky, Natalie Schafer and Paul Cavanagh. The screenplay is written by Edmund H. North which is inspired from Dishonored Lady 1930 play by Edward Sheldon and Margaret Ayer Barnes. The music was composed by Carmen Dragon. Cinematography was done by Lucien N. Andriot and editing by John M. Foley. The movie has a running time of 85 minutes. It was released on 16th May 1947.
