Dragonheart: A New Beginning is a 1999 English-language Action Adventure movie written by Shari Goodhartz and directed by Doug Lefler and produced by Raffaella De Laurentiis under the banner of Universal Family & Home Entertainment Production. Dragonheart: a new beginning features Robby Benson in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Christopher Masterson, Harry Van Gorkum, Rona Figueroa, Matt Hickey, Henry O and Tom Burke. The film is based on Dragonheart by Charles Edward Pogue Patrick Read Johnson. The music was composed by Mark Mckenzie. Cinematography was done by Buzz Feitshans IV and editing by John M. Taylor. The movie has a running time of 84 minutes. It was released on 17th December 1999. Dragonheart: A New Beginning was made on a budget of $11 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Universal Studios Home Video. When Geoff, an orphaned stable boy (Chris Masterson), discovers Drake (voice of Robby Benson), the world's last living dragon, he realizes that his dream of becoming a knight in shining armor can now come true. Together, they soon face challenges that turn them into heroes. But caught up in the excitement of their new lives, Geoff and Drake fail to the hidden dangers that surround them.
