Faraar is a 1975 Hindi-language Action Crime movie written by Gulzar Kalra, Madhusudhan Kalekar, Khayaae, Akhil Kumar, Partho Mukerjee, Madhusudan Kalekar and Prtho Mukherjee. The movie is directed by Shankar Mukherjee and produced by Alankar Chitra under the banner of Filmistan Studio in collaboration with Filmways Studios and K. Asif Studios. When two lovers separated due to financial circumstance are reunited several years later under one roof, sparks fly and emotions run high. How will they resolve this relationship?. Faraar stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Sanjeev Kumar, Sharmila Tagore, Sulochana Latkar, Anupama, Jayshree T. and Leena Das. The music was composed by Kalyanji-anandji. Cinematography was done by K.H. Kapadia and editing by Babu Lavande. It was released on 21st November 1975. Faraar was made on a budget of ₹1 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹3 lakh. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Alankar Chitra.
