Flatliners is a 2017 English-language Drama Horror movie written by Ben Ripley and directed by Niels Arden Oplev and produced by Peter Safran, Michael Douglas and Laurence Mark under the banner of Columbia Pictures in collaboration with Cross Creek Pictures, Further Films, Laurence Mark Productions and The Safran Company. Five medical students, obsessed by what lies beyond the confines of life, embark on a daring experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods, each triggers a near-death experience - giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife. Flatliners stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton, Kiersey Clemons, Kiefer Sutherland and Helene Robbie. The screenplay is written by Ben Ripley which is inspired from Flatliners by Peter Filardi. The music was composed by Nathan Barr. Cinematography was done by Eric Kress and editing by Tom Elkins. The movie has a running time of 110 minutes. It was released on 18th October 2017. The Film was successful at box office. Flatliners was made on a budget of $19 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $61 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Sony Pictures Releasing.
