Gekijo-ban Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale is a 2017 Japanese-language Animation Action movie directed by Tomohiko It. Gekijo-ban Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale was produced under the production house A-1 Pictures. In 2026, a new machine called the Augma is developed to compete against the NerveGear and its successor, the Amusphere. A next-gen wearable device, the Augma doesn't have a full-dive function like its predecessors. Instead, it uses Augmented Reality (AR) to get players into the game. It is safe, user-friendly and lets users play while they are conscious, making it an instant hit on the market. The most popular game on the system is Ordinal Scale (aka: OS), an ARMMORPG developed exclusively for the Augma. Asuna and the gang have already been playing OS for a while, and soon Kirito decides to join them. However, they're about to find out that Ordinal Scale isn't all fun and games. Gekijo-ban sword art online: ordinal scale features Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Haruka Tomatsu, Ayana Taketatsu, Kanae It, Rina Hidaka, Ayahi Takagaki and Kôichi Yamadera. The screenplay is written by Reki Kawahara and Tomohiko It which is inspired from Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara. The music was composed by Yuki Kajiura. Cinematography was done by Kentar Waki and editing by Shigeru Nishiyama. The movie has a running time of 119 minutes. It was released on 18th February 2017. The motion picture made a box office gross of $4 billion. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Aniplex.
