Get Rich or Die Tryin is a 2005 English-language Biography Crime film written by Terence Winter and directed by Jim Sheridan and produced by Jimmy Iovine, Chris Lighty, Paul Rosenberg and Jim Sheridan under the banner of MTV Films in collaboration with G-Unit Films and Interscope/Shady/Aftermath Films. A tale of an inner city drug dealer who turns away from crime to pursue his passion, rap music. Get rich or die tryin stars Curtis 50 Cent Jackson in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Terrence Howard, Joy Bryant, Bill Duke, Adewale Akinnuoye-agbaje, Omar Benson Miller and Viola Davis. The music was composed by Quincy Jones along with Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer. Cinematography was done by Declan Quinn and editing by Roger Barton and Conrad Buff. The movie has a running time of 117 minutes. Get Rich or Die Tryin was made on a budget of $40 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $46 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Paramount Pictures.
