Gharana is a 1961 Hindi-language Comedy Drama motion picture written by Shakeel Badayuni, Mukhram Sharma and M.s. Visvanathan. The movie is directed by S.s. Vasan and S S Vasan and produced by K. Ravi Shankar. A mother and daughter create bitterness, hatred, acrimony and discord in a wealthy family. Gharana stars Rajendra Kumar in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Raaj Kumar, Asha Parekh, Rajendra Kumar Tuli, Raaj Kumar Pandit, Bipin Gupta and Agha. The motion picture is based on Shanthi Nivasam. The music was composed by Ravi. It was released on 22nd February 1961.
