Gothika is a 2003 English-language Horror Mystery movie written by Sebastian Gutierrez and directed by Mathieu Kassovitz and produced by Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis and Susan Levin under the banner of Columbia Pictures in collaboration with Dark Castle Entertainment. A repressed female psychiatrist wakes up as a patient in the asylum where she worked, with no memory of why she is there or what she has done. Gothika features Halle Berry, Robert Downey Jr., Charles S. Dutton, John Carroll Lynch, Bernard Hill, Pen Lope Cruz and Noah Bernett. The music was composed by John Ottman along with Lior Rosner. Cinematography was done by Matthew Libatique and editing by Yannick Kergoat. The motion picture has a running time of 98 minutes. It was released on 21st November 2003. The Film was successful at box office. Gothika was made on a budget of $40 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $141 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Warner Bros. Pictures.
