Grizzly Man is a 2005 English-language Documentary Biography motion picture written and directed by Werner Herzog and produced by Kevin Beggs, Billy Campbell, Phil Fairclough, Andrea Meditch, Erik Nelson, Tom Ortenberg and Jewel Palovak. A docudrama that centers on amateur grizzly bear expert Timothy Treadwell. He periodically journeyed to Alaska to study and live with the bears. He was killed, along with his girlfriend, Amie Huguenard, by a rogue bear in October 2003. The films explores Treadwell's compassionate life as he found solace among these endangered animals. Written by Sujit R. Varma. Grizzly man stars Timothy Treadwell, Werner Herzog, Carol Dexter, Val Dexter, Sam Egli, Franc G. Fallico and Larry Van Daele. The music was composed by Richard Thompson. Cinematography was done by Peter Zeitlinger and editing by Joe Bini. The motion picture has a running time of 104 minutes. It was released on 27th October 2005 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The movie made a box office gross of $4 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Lions Gate Films.
