High Fidelity is a 2000 English-language Comedy Drama movie written by Nick Hornby, D.v. Devincentis, Steve Pink, John Cusack and Scott Rosenberg. The movie is directed by Stephen Frears and produced by Tim Bevan and Rudd Simmons under the banner of Touchstone Pictures in collaboration with Working Title Films, Dogstar Films and New Crime Productions. Rob, a record store owner and compulsive list maker, recounts his top five breakups, including the one in progress. High fidelity stars John Cusack, Jack Black, Lisa Bonet, Joelle Carter, Joan Cusack, Sara Gilbert and Ian Williams. The screenplay is written by D. V. DeVincentis, Steve Pink, John Cusack and Scott Rosenberg which is inspired from High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. The music was composed by Howard Shore. Cinematography was done by Seamus McGarvey and editing by Mick Audsley. The movie has a running time of 113 minutes. It was released on 31st March 2000 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. High Fidelity was made on a budget of $30 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $47 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Buena Vista Pictures.
