Hoot is a 2006 English-language Adventure Comedy motion picture written by Wil Shriner and Carl Hiaasen. The movie is directed by Wil Shriner and produced by Frank Marshall and Jimmy Buffett under the banner of Walden Media in collaboration with The Kennedy/Marshall Company. A young man (Lerman) moves from Montana to Florida with his family, where he's compelled to engage in a fight to protect a population of endangered owls. Hoot features Luke Wilson in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Logan Lerman, Brie Larson, Tim Blake Nelson, Neil Flynn, Robert Wagner and Cody Linley. The screenplay is written by Wil Shriner which is inspired from Hoot by Carl Hiaasen. The music was composed by Jimmy Buffett. Cinematography was done by Michael Chapman and editing by Alan Edward Bell. The motion picture has a running time of 91 minutes. It was released on 5th May 2006.
