Hot Money is a 2006 hindi-language Mystery movie written by Nisar Akhtar and Neil Mckay. The movie is directed by Rakesh Sawant and Terry Winsor and produced by Jeremy Phillips under the banner of Granada Television airing on ITV. Hot Money is a story of deceit and debacle. Simran (Nilanjana Bhattacharya) cries rape against her teacher, Rahul Kapoor (Tarun Arora). To make her case stronger, she asks an ex-student, Tanya (Divya Dwivedi), to testify in court against Rahul. However, Simran's bluff is out and it then emerges that Simran, Rahul and Tanya were all hand-in-glove to make money from Simran's rich mother (Kunika). A police inspector, Arjun Chowdhary (Mukesh Tiwari), gets wind of the trio's deal and tries to get a share of the pie. Meanwhile, Simran murders Tanya; Arjun kills Simran; and Rahul and Arjun also die in the end. Sunita Sanyal (Rati Agnihotri) and Mahajan (Tinnu Anand) play lawyers. Hot money features Caroline Quentin, Gerard Horan, Kate Williams, Georgia Mackenzie, Jay Simpson, Melanie Hill and Mukesh Tiwari. The music was composed by Colin Towns. Cinematography was done by John Daly and editing by Edward Mansell. The film has a running time of 90 minutes. It was released on 16th June 2006. Hot Money was made on a budget of ₹80 lakh and at the box office it grossed only ₹20 lakh. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Reliance Entertainment.
