The movie is directed by Martyn Atkins and Jim Sheridan and produced by Jim Sheridan and Arthur Lappin under the banner of Hell's Kitchen Films in collaboration with East of Harlem Ltd. A family of Irish immigrants adjust to life on the mean streets of Hell's Kitchen while also grieving the death of a child. In america stars Samantha Morton in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Paddy Considine, Sarah Bolger, Emma Bolger, Djimon Hounsou, Sheryl Crow and Peter Stroud. The music was composed by Gavin Friday along with Maurice Seezer. Cinematography was done by Declan Quinn and editing by Naomi Geraghty. The movie has a running time of 105 minutes. It was released on 6th February 2004. The motion picture made a box office gross of $25 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Fox Searchlight Pictures.
