Innocents is a 2000 English-language Drama motion picture directed by Bernardo Bertolucci and produced by Jeremy Thomas under the banner of Recorded Picture Company in collaboration with Peninsula Films. The film, based upon the Bristol heart scandal of the 1980s and 90s, tells the story about James Wisheart and Janarda Dhasmana, who whilst working together to perform 33 arterial-switch operations, drew up a mortality rate of 66% among patients under a month old, and 43% among those over a month old. Written by morroviolet. Innocents stars Michael Pitt, Eva Green, Louis Garrel, Adie Allen, Gillian Bevan, Roger Brierley and Kelley Costigan. The screenplay is written by Gilbert Adair which is inspired from The Holy Innocents by Gilbert Adair. Cinematography was done by Fabio Cianchetti and editing by Jacopo Quadri.
