Janaan is a 2016 Urdu-language Drama Musical movie written by Osman Khalid Butt and directed by Azfar Jafri and produced by Hareem Farooq, Reham Khan, Munir Hussain and Imran Raza Kazmi under the banner of IRK Films. The story of a Pakhtun girl who returns from Canada to attend her cousin's wedding in Swat, Pakistan and falls in love. Janaan features Armeena Khan, Bilal Ashraf, Ali Rehman Khan, Hania Amir, Hania Aamir, Saad Zia Abbasi and Shafqat Khan. The music was composed by Taha Malik along with Ahmed Ali, Armaan Malik and Salim Sulaiman. Cinematography was done by Haider A Rizvi and editing by Mitesh Soni. The movie has a running time of 133 minutes. It was released on 9th September 2016 in Urdu and Pashto languages. The Film was successful at box office. Janaan was made on a budget of ₹11 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of $300 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by ARY Films.
