John Q is a 2002 English-language Crime Drama film written by James Kearns and directed by Nick Cassavetes and produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules under the banner of Evolution Entertainment. John Quincy Archibald takes a hospital emergency room hostage when his insurance won't cover his son's heart transplant. John q stars Denzel Washington in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Robert Duvall, James Woods, Anne Heche, Eddie Griffin, Kimberly Elise and Shawn Hatosy. The music was composed by Aaron Zigman. Cinematography was done by Rogier Stoffers and editing by Dede Allen. The film has a running time of 116 minutes. It was released on 15th February 2002.
