José Rizal is a 1998 English-language Biography Drama movie written by Ricardo Lee, Jun Lana, Peter Ong Lim and Jose Rizal. The movie is directed by Marilou Diaz-abaya and produced by Gilberto Duavit Jr., Felipe Gozon and Menardo Jimenez under the banner of GMA Films. Jose Rizal's life and works are recounted through a series of non-linear flashbacks which reflect on various aspects of his life - as writer, propagandist, lover, friend, brother, doctor, and the man that inspired a revolution. José rizal stars Cesar Montano in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Joel Torre, Jaime Fabregas, Gloria Diaz, Gardo Versoza, Monique Wilson and Chin Chin Gutierrez. The screenplay is written by Ricky Lee, Jun Lana and Peter Ong Lim. The music was composed by Nonong Buencamino. Cinematography was done by Rody Lacap and editing by Jess Navarro and Manet Dayrit.
