An enthralling action flick Junglee stars Vidyut Jammwal (Raj), Pooja Sawant (Shankara) and Asha Bhat (Meera) as main leads. The concept of the film was initially derived from a classic Hindi film Haathi Mere Saathi by Rohan Sippy. However, the movie was later directed by Chuck Russell, an American filmmaker, who came on board impressed by the story that emphasizes the importance of man connecting to his natural environment. The film was produced by Junglee Pictures at a budget of INR 22 crores and the film collected approximately INR 32.53 crores at the box office worldwide. The hero Vidyut Jammwal, a trained kalaripayattu practitioner has performed his stunts in the movie. The movie was filmed in Thailand and the scenes involving elephants were shot with the help of a trained crew from Thai. About a hundred elephants were examined from India and Sri Lanka out of which four elephants were selected and used in the film. The movie anyhow gathered only average response from the critics and mixed reviews from the audiences. The film, certified by the British Board of Film Classification has a run time of about 115 minutes.
