Kaaval is a 2015 Tamil-language Thriller Action film written and directed by Nagendran R and produced by Punnagai Poo Geetha, Punnagai Poo Gheetha and Philip Sheetal under the banner of SG Films. Chandrasekar (Samuthirakani) is an honest police officer and he is given an opportunity to encounter the deadliest don who is responsible for all the murders that are happening in Tamil Nadu. But during the mission, Chandrasekar looses one of his most intelligent encounter specialists Alwin Sudan and later he realizes that their carefully planned operation was leaked to the rivals by a guy (Vimal) son of a corrupt constable (MS Baskar). Now Chandrasekar sketches a plan to encounter the don through Vimal. Does he succeed in it? Written by Vishnu Vardhan. Kaaval features Vimal in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Samuthirakani, Punnagai Poo Gheetha, Punnagai Poo Geetha, M.s. Bhaskar, Singamuthu and Imman Annachi. The music was composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar along with Dharan Kumar. Cinematography was done by N. K. Ekambaram and editing by Praveen K. L. It was released on 26th June 2015.
