Vimalraj (the grubby Meenakshi Sundaram from Pasanga) is the ill-behaved son of the gullible Saranya and her husband Ilavarasu.. Kalavaani features Vimal, Saranya Ponvannan, Ganja Karuppu, Ilavarasu, Antony, Oviya Helen and Thavasi. The music was composed by S. S. Kumaran. Cinematography was done by Om Prakash and editing by Raja Mohammad. It was released on 25th June 2010. The Film was successful at box office. Kalavaani was made on a budget of ₹1 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹5 crore. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Ayngaran International.
