Kanavan is a 1968 Tamil-language Drama Family motion picture written by Sornam and directed by Pa.neelakandan and produced by Sadayappan under the banner of Valli Films. Kanavan stars M. G. Ramachandran in the title role along with an ensemble cast including C. R. Vijayakumari, S. A. Asokan, R. S. Manohar, Ashokan, J Jayalalitha and R.s. Manohar. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. Cinematography was done by V. Ramamoorthy and editing by G. D. Joshi. It was released on 16th February 1968. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Valli Films.
