Kedarnath narrates the love between a Muslim porter Mansoor and Mukku daughter of a Hindu priest. The challenges they face forms the crux of the story. The screenplay was written by Abhishek Kapoor and Kanika Dhillon. The entire film is based on the Uttarakhand floods. The film was produced by Ronnie Screwavala, Pragya Kapoor, Abhishek Kapoor, and Abhishek Nayyar and directed by Abhishek Kapoor. This 2018 romantic Hindi drama stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan. Clear cut editing by Chandan Arora and adept cinematography by Tushar Kanti Ray makes it a watchable movie. It was released on 7 December 2018 and was distributed by RSVP Movies and Guy in the Sky Pictures. The music was composed by Amit Trivedi. The film was made on a budget of ₹35 crores and it collected ₹103 crores at the box office. The Censor Board has categorized the movie under UA certification and occupies a screen time of 116 minutes. The movie was mired in controversy when the teaser was released because people were not very comfortable with a kissing scene between the leading pair in the holy place Kedarnath and due to this reason the film was banned in Uttarakhand.
