Kursk is a 2018 English-language Action Drama motion picture written by Robert Rodat and directed by Thomas Vinterberg and produced by Ariel Zeitoun under the banner of EuropaCorp in collaboration with Belga Productions and VIA EST. The film follows the 2000 K-141 Kursk submarine disaster and the governmental negligence that followed. As the sailors fight for survival, their families desperately battle political obstacles and impossible odds to save them. Kursk stars Matthias Schoenaerts, L A Seydoux, Colin Firth, Peter Simonischek, August Diehl, Max Von Sydow and David Léonard. The screenplay is written by Robert Rodat which is inspired from A Time to Die by Robert Moore. The music was composed by Venice Golden Lion winner Alexandre Desplat.
