Lady and the Tramp is a 1955 English-language Animation Adventure film directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson and Hamilton Luske and produced by Walt Disney under the banner of Walt Disney Productions. Lady, a golden cocker spaniel, meets up with a mongrel dog who calls himself the Tramp. He is obviously from the wrong side of town, but happenings at Lady's home make her decide to travel with him for a while. This turns out to be a bad move, as no dog is above the law. Written by Tim Pickett. Lady and the tramp stars Barbara Luddy in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Larry Roberts, Bill Thompson, Dallas Mckennon, Bill Baucom, Verna Felton and Peggy Lee. The movie is based on Happy Dan The Cynical Dog by Ward Greene. The music was composed by Oliver Wallace. Editing was done by Don Halliday. The movie has a running time of 76 minutes. It was released on 22nd June 1955. The Film was successful at box office. Lady and the Tramp was made on a budget of $4 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $93 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Buena Vista Film Distribution.
